1 What You'll Do

What You’ll Do:

  • Negotiate, draft, and review a wide range of commercial contracts and partnership agreements with different counterparties;
  • Research and anticipate unique legal issues that could impact the company, and review internal/external materials to ensure that they are in compliance with legal/regulatory requirements including AML, DPA and SEC;
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, changes and/or additions to law, jurisprudence and/or regulations relevant to the company, and to notify management of such changes;
  • Acts as overall business consultant and trusted advisor to a variety of internal stakeholders of the functional teams by providing an assessment of the legal risk landscape of the organization;
  • Acts as Data Protection Officer to ensure that personal data of data subjects (employees, borrowers, and other individuals) is processed in a compliant manner;
  • Acts as Corporate Secretary of the Company responsible for good corporate governance and housekeeping of corporate documents;
  • Perform varying duties depending on the changing needs of the company and contribute to product-market fit efforts and company scaling initiatives thereafter; and
  • Base decision-making process on professionalism, ethics and integrity.

2 Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 3-5 years post qualification experience with strong corporate and commercial law background from leading local law firms.
  • In-house experience is not required, but startup or SME experience is a plus
