Are you an incoming college freshman and planning to study at Mapúa University?
If you answered a resounding yes, congratulations! Kung nagsimula ka nang maghanda for your college application, chances are you already came across the MPASS aka the Mapúa Program Placement Assessment. (Kung hindi naman, okay lang din. That’s why we’re here!)
Let’s help you get started with your Mapúan journey by taking the first step–applying for the MPASS. Learn more about it by reading this all-in application guide!

The MPASS, which stands for Mapúa Program Placement Assessment, is the university’s standardized assessment tool used to evaluate students’ cognitive and academic ability. Ito yung pumalit sa Mapúa Scholastic Aptitude Exam (MSAE), the annual entrance exam administered by the university prior the pandemic.
Ngayong fully online na ang application for incoming students, taking the MPASS is the first step towards your Mapúan journey! Your exam result will determine kung saang college program ka qualified. Or if you’re still in high school, kung anong academic strand ang bagay sayo. All based on your assessment score.
Aside from conveniently taking MPASS anytime and anywhere since it’s online, hindi mo na rin kailangan maghintay nang matagal since the result is released as soon as you finish the exam. Ah, the perks of online application!
The MPASS is open to all incoming Grade 11 or senior high school (SHS) and college freshmen students. Para malaman kung may additional requirements kang kailangan ihanda, you can check Mapúa’s admission guidelines for SHS or college freshmen!
Online application is key! To ensure your safety, hindi mo na kailangan pumunta sa Mapúa campus in person but instead you can simply go to their website to apply. Even the whole enrollment process after taking the exam can be done online! Galing, diba?
Here’s your MPASS application in three easy steps:
For School Year 2021-2022, the MPASS fee is discounted at Php 300 per application. Pwede kang magbayad sa any RCBC bank, Cebuana Lhuillier, Land Bank Payment Portal, or through PayMaya. No payment, no MPASS!
At this point, there are no requirements for application. Sagutan mo lang yung online application form at bayaran yung MPASS fee, and you’re good to go! However, take note that applicants with special cases like foreign nationals or students coming from schools abroad (just to name a few) may be asked additional requirements.
You can take the MPASS until April 2021! The online application and enrollment for School Year 2021-2022 is currently ongoing. But since slots are limited, we encourage you to take the exam the soonest. Para maging updated sa latest announcements, make it a habit to regularly check the University’s official website and Facebook page.
You can try but no! The MPASS may be a replacement for the MSAE but it’s not a pass-or-fail test like the usual college entrance exams. Simply put, you’re taking the MPASS to find the best SHS strand or college program for you–not to qualify for Mapúa. So kalma ka lang and do your best in the exam. Para sayo rin ‘to!
Congratulations. You’re one step closer to your Mapúan dream! Pagkatapos mo magtake ng MPASS, you have two options: reserve your slot or continue your enrollment.
If you want to reserve your slot
Kung hindi ka pa decided to enroll, it’s okay! Take your time to carefully weigh your decision. After all, this is your college life we’re talking about. However, para masigurado na hindi ka mauubusan ng slot by the time you decide, pwede kang magbayad ng non-transferable and refundable reservation fee of Php 5,000.
If you’re considering if the fee is worth it, just keep in mind that you’ll also be entitled to a one-time early bird discount of Php 5,000. Ibigsabihin, hindi rin additional gastos yung reservation fee since ibabawas naman ito sa matriculation fee mo for your first term. Plus, may discount ka pa! To reserve your slot, log in to your MPASS Applicant Portal.
If you want to continue your enrollment
So you’re all set to be a bonafide Mapúan student. Great! Like how your MPASS application is fully online, ganun din ang enrollment process mo. Just follow the instructions in your MPASS applicant portal. To give you a brief overview of what to expect, ito yung mga pwede mong magawa during your online enrollment:
