What are the requirements to become a Bukas borrower?

To apply for a tuition installment plan, you must fit the following criteria:

You must be a Filipino citizen

We are on a mission to make education affordable for Filipino youths.

You must be at least 18 years old

We only grant installment plans to those of legal age.

You must be enrolled as an undergraduate or postgraduate student at one of our partner schools

We must ensure that you are currently enrolled at one of our partner schools.

Step 1

Create an account

To create an account, you'll need to enter your mobile number and password. Make sure your phone is with you to verify your mobile and complete the registration.

Do you have a valid and active mobile number?

Upon registration, you will receive an OTP (One-time password) to verify your mobile number. Make sure you enter the correct number to complete this process.

Are you at least 18 years old?

You must be at least 18 years old to qualify for a Bukas installment plan.

Are you currently enrolled at one of our partner schools?

Only students about to enroll or are enrolled to one of our partner schools can qualify for a Bukas plan. For a full list of our partner schools, click here.

Step 2

Set up your student profile

You'll need to fill out your student profile before you can get started on your application. Make sure you reach profile level 3 to be eligible to apply for a tuition installment plan.

What do I need to provide in order to apply for an installment plan?

For you to apply for an installment plan, you must provide all the required information. These include your contact details, guardian's contact details, guarantor's contact details. You may also provide additional information such as your guarantor’s proof of income to get a better chance of getting your full requested amount approved.

Note that additional documents may be required by our assessment team.

What is a guardian?

We will require you to provide a guardian who is currently residing in the Philippines and at least 21 years old. Your guardian will serve as your emergency contact so they must have a contactable mobile number and an active email address.

What is a guarantor? Is it required?

A guarantor is someone who will be obliged with handling and taking care of the payments of the student. They must be ready to provide proof of income during your application.

To complete your application, a guarantor is required to submit and complete all necessary information. You may choose from these three options when selecting your guarantor:

1. Sign on as your own guarantor
2. Have your guardian sign on as your guarantor
3. Choose another guarantor apart from your guardian

Step 3

Submit an application

Submit an application and receive feedback within one to two business days. Once your application is approved, you'll need to review the details again and confirm before your payment is disbursed to your school.

How much are the rates?

Our installment plans can cover up to 100% of your tuition. Our standard installment plan is payable in 12 monthly installments with a 1.5% monthly flat interest rate per month, and a one-time 3% service fee.

What documents do I need to apply?

You only need your student ID, a proof of residence and your assessment form (this can also be your tuition billing, school billing, registration form, SOA, COM, or a screenshot of your student portal).

I've submitted my application. What's next?

After you submit your application, it will take us 3 to 5 working days to process and provide feedback. Once approved, you'll need to review the approved tuition amount and plan details in your Bukas account. Once you're ready, you can confirm your application. Once confirmed, we will disburse the full tuition amount directly to your school in 1 to 2 business days.

In case your application needs revisions, kindly update your account and submit again to continue your application process.

Yes! We’re here to help you from start to finish. That means students who apply for an installment plan today can get additional coverage in the succeeding terms. Just make sure you pay for your monthly dues on time and apply early to avoid any delays.
