How To Apply for a Bukas Student Loan?

Applying for a Bukas student loan is now easier and faster! Bukas is here to guide applicants through each step. Simply follow the steps below to get started with a Bukas student loan:

Application Steps

(1) Create an account

Visit app.bukas.ph to create an account. Register a mobile number and verify it with an OTP (One-Time Password). Parents can now create an account and manage the loans on behalf of students.

(2) Verify identity

Prepare a valid ID and complete the Liveness Test to verify identity.

(3) Start application

Follow these steps in starting an application:

Select "College Loan" or "Short Term Course” and enter the school’s name.
Choose a preferred loan term (installment length) and the amount needed for the student’s tuition.
This amount should match the one on the school assessment form.

(4) Identify the borrower

Specify whether the one applying is the student or a parent.

Once selected, this cannot be changed for future multiple loans.
If a parent nominates themselves as the borrower, the student should be co-borrower.

(5) Provide contact information

Enter the needed information, along with the Co-borrower’s and Additional Contact Person’s details.

(6) Submit the application

After submitting, applicants can expect to receive feedback from the team within 1-2 working days if the application has been PRE-APPROVED.

After Pre-Approval:

Upload Requirements: Pre-approved borrowers will need to upload the documentary requirements listed here. Please advise the co-borrower that a link will be sent to them for verification. Without their verification, the application will not be able to proceed.
Final Results: The FINAL RESULTS of a Bukas student loan application will be received within 3-5 business days after submitting all needed documents.
Revisions: The Assessment team may ask applicants to revise some details (e.g., blurred picture, outdated document). Applications with unresolved revisions will remain on hold. It is highly suggested that required revisions are completed immediately.

After Approval:

Confirm Agreement: Approved borrowers and their co-borrowers will need to confirm the agreement.
Disbursement: An SMS will be sent informing that the approved amount has been disbursed to the school.
Additional Documents: Please keep lines open as the Assessment Team may reach out via call or email. All instructions should be followed carefully to get the final result of the application faster.

For student loans amounting to Php 100,000 and above, the Assessment Team may require additional documents to verify the application. This might include, but is not limited to, a request for an additional reference person. Please note that this may result in a slightly longer processing time.

Can I Apply for Multiple Bukas Plans?

Yes, Borrowers can apply for another student loan even if they still have an existing plan! This option is called having Multiple Installment Plans (MIP).

To be eligible for MIP, Borrowers must meet these key requirements:

60 days should have passed from the activation date of the most recent student loan plan.
At least three (3) repayments must have been successfully made on the recent plan.
Must demonstrate good payment behavior with Bukas student loans.

What is a Co-borrower?

A Co-borrower is an additional borrower who can be a spouse, parent, sibling, any other family member, or even a friend, who will be equally liable for the student loan.

Both the Borrower and Co-borrower must sign the agreement and are equally responsible for repayments, receiving collection reminders. Having a Co-borrower can help an applicant better manage their loan. Once a loan is active, both individuals' information must be kept updated.

Co-borrower Requirements:

18 years old
Has a PH mobile number
Reside in the Philippines

They will provide consent via an SMS link, submitting a Government-issued valid ID and agreeing to terms. Additional documents like proof of residence may also be required. For faster processing, please prepare these documents.

Proof of Income:

Only one individual (Borrower or Co-borrower, or both) needs to provide proof of income. During application, indicate if the Borrower and/or Co-borrower has a source of income and enter their details. See a list of valid Proof of Income here.

Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) as Co-borrowers:

OFWs cannot be co-borrowers. Please nominate another relative or friend residing in the Philippines to sign the agreement.

How to input OFW-related income:

If the Borrower or Co-borrower receives OFW remittances, nominate the receiver of the remittance as the income earner. This allows you to submit the OFW’s income information under their profile.

Sample Scenario: If the student is the applicant, their father is an OFW, and their mother receives remittances
- Borrower: Student

Co-borrower Revision Requests:

Our team may request a different co-borrower based on assessment to help the applicant best manage their loan. Remember, the chosen co-borrower shares equal responsibility for loan repayment.

What is an Additional Contact Person?

For every Bukas student loan application, applicants are required to nominate an Additional Contact Person (ACP). This individual can be a parent, sibling, close relative, or any other trusted contact, as long as they are:

(1) At least 18 years old

(2) Currently residing in the Philippines.

Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) will not be allowed as an additional contact person.

Although an additional contact person may be asked to verify their identity through a link sent via SMS, they will not receive regular payment reminders. They will only be contacted if Bukas is unable to reach both the applicant and their co-borrower in case of an emergency. Please note that they might also receive minimal collection reminders.

Additional Contact Reference

For student loan applications amounting to Php 100,000 and above, an Additional Reference Person (ACR) is needed for the Bukas Assessment Team to further review the application.

How do I get my Facebook URL for my Bukas Application?

To link your Facebook account to your Bukas profile, you'll need to get your unique Facebook URL from your profile. Below are the steps to get the URL using a desktop browser or the mobile Facebook app.

If you are using Facebook on a desktop browser:

Login to your Facebook account.
From the homepage, click your profile.
On the address bar of your browser, highlight the complete Facebook URL (should look like this: www.facebook.com/your_fb_id), right click the highlighted URL and click copy.
Go back to your Bukas profile and paste it on the Facebook URL field.

If you are using the Facebook App on a mobile phone:

Open your Facebook app and login to your Facebook account.
From the homepage, click the menu icon on the upper right (looks like three horizontal lines)
Click your profile photo or "See your profile" under your name.

Note: Your profile and your application form are different from each other, and may need separate revisions. However, it may take longer than usual due to a high volume of applications or if there are required revisions to an applicant's profile or application. (1) Take a proper selfie with a valid ID

Make sure to upload a clear photo of the applicant holding their ID.
The details on the ID should be readable, and the face should be fully visible. Do not cover any part of the ID or face.
Use the back camera of a phone to take the photo for higher image resolution.
Remove the ID from its case.
Applicants can take a selfie with any government-issued valid ID.

(2) Make sure that your proof of residence is acceptable

The address on the proof of residence should exactly match the address stated on the Bukas profile.
The proof of residence should be one of the following documents:
- Barangay Certificate
- Water Bill *
- Electricity Bill *
- Landline Phone Bill *
- Postpaid line bill *
- Internet Bill *
- Bank statement with Address *
- Credit Card Statement of Account (SoA) *
- Lease Contract
The uploaded file must show the entire page of the proof of residence, not just a portion of it. Do not fold or cover any part of the proof of residence.
A proof of residence may be named under the applicant (borrower) or their co-borrower. However, if the proof of residence is not named under either, please send an email to info@bukas.ph with another proof of residence and state the relationship with the owner of that document.
When uploading files, ensure a stable internet connection and that the files do not exceed 10MB. Applicants can also try logging in to a different device when re-uploading files.

(3) Make sure that your proof of income file is acceptable

Make sure that the details on the proof of income match exactly with the details on the Bukas profile.
The guarantor's proof of income should be one of the following documents:
- If Employed:
- Income Tax Return BIR 2316
- Certificate of Employment with monthly incom
- Payslips (Official copy/ Screenshot on employee portal)*
- Payroll bank account statement, web screenshots of online banking payroll credits, or mobile banking app

Why Am I Getting the Same Revisions?

Applicants can always make the necessary revisions directly on their Bukas profile. To ensure revisions are correct, please read and follow the instructions carefully as sent to the applicant's email and as displayed on their Bukas account.

As long as revisions are still required, the final assessment of the application will not be received. Completing revisions as soon as possible is highly recommended to avoid any delays in the application process.

Why are you asking me to revise my guarantor?

Depending on the assessment of our team, we may require a different guarantor for your application. This instruction is given to help improve your chances of approval.

Sa pagpili ng bagging guarantor, take note that he/she will be primarily responsible to help you pay for your tuition installment plan once approved and disbursed to the school. A guarantor can also be working abroad or residing outside the Philippines.

Once a Bukas student loan application is approved, Bukas directly deposits the tuition fee to the school. Applicants will be notified in real-time through SMS, and they can also refer to the disclosure statement from their Bukas account as proof of payment.

Applicants can also check their Bukas account to confirm if the loan status is "active," as this indicates that the funds have been successfully disbursed to their school.

If the tuition payment status is still not updated in the student portal after these checks, we suggest that applicants directly coordinate with their school's finance or accounting department. They will be able to provide the most accurate information regarding the posting of the payment.

When do I Start Paying Bukas?

Late or Overdue Payments Fees

At Bukas, we encourage Borrowers to pay their student loans on time to avoid incurring late payment fees.

The late payment fee (LPF) is 5% of the unpaid amount.

Here's what Borrowers can do if a payment date is missed:

Partial Payments: Borrowers can opt to pay less than their monthly due to decrease the late payment fees they might incur. This helps manage the outstanding balance.
Promise to Pay date: If unable to pay monthly dues in full, Borrowers can send an exact promise-to-pay date. Please note that sending a promise-to-pay date will not delay or change the original due date. Instead, it will only manage the collection efforts received.

Can I pay in advance?

Yes! Borrowers have the flexibility to pay more than their monthly dues. Any excess payment will be credited towards the next monthly due.

Borrowers also have the option to pay their loan in full. We have no Pre-Termination charges, and Borrowers may even be eligible for rebates! If a Borrower is able to pay the total principal amount earlier than their last payment date, please send an email to payments@bukas.ph to request a computation of the student loan's interest.

What is Multiple Installment Plans (MIP)?

Multiple Installment Plans (MIP) refers to having two or more Bukas Student Loan plans active simultaneously. This option is available for Borrowers who need additional tuition coverage and wish to apply for a new plan on top of their current one. This allows Borrowers to manage ongoing education costs effectively by providing continuous financial support.

MIP Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for MIP, Borrowers must meet these key requirements:

60 days should have passed from the activation date of the most recent student loan plan.
At least three (3) repayments must have been successfully made on the recent plan.
Must demonstrate good payment behavior with Bukas student loans.

How to Apply for MIP

The "College Loan" or "Short Term Course" button is available on a Borrower's Bukas account only if the Borrower is eligible to apply again. If this button is not visible, Borrowers should check if they meet the eligibility requirements mentioned above.

When reapplying, Borrowers will be asked to select their identity. Please note that account owners cannot be changed in between installment plans. This means that student-owned accounts cannot become parent-owned accounts in succeeding loans. Borrowers should ensure they enter their details accordingly.

Borrowers will repeat the same application submission steps. Hence, they will be asked to provide updated application details such as a co-borrower and updated documents (School Assessment Form, Proof of Residence, and Proof of Income).

All applications will undergo a thorough review and will still be subject to approval. It will take 3-5 business days, excluding weekends and holidays, before Borrowers receive the final result.

How to Maintain MIP

Having more than one installment plan also means managing more than one set of monthly dues. Here are some tips on how to maintain Multiple Tuition Installment Plans:

Use the payment dashboard on the Bukas account. This dashboard helps Borrowers keep track of their Multiple Installment Plans and their respective due dates. The table is updated every time a payment is made, allowing Borrowers to note which months need to be settled for each installment plan. Please note that the payment table updates only 1-3 business days after making a deposit.
Indicate the correct Bukas Reference Code/Number. When settling the monthly dues for installment plans, it is important to indicate the reference code or installment number for the specific plan being paid for. Borrowers will need to make separate transactions or deposits per installment plan to ensure payment is recorded for that specific plan’s payment dashboard.

At Bukas, we prioritize not only the future of students but also the security of borrowers' information. While Bukas continuously works to safeguard information, borrowers can also play a part in protecting their data. Here are some important tips to secure personal information:

(1) Create a strong password, and do not share it with anyone

It's okay to keep secrets sometimes! Ensure that only the applicant knows the password for their Bukas account. Even a Bukas employee does not have the right to know an applicant's password.
A password should be strong enough so that it cannot be easily guessed. Mix alphabets (uppercase and lowercase), numbers, and special characters. Also, ensure that the most obvious numbers (such as a birthdate) are not used for a password.

(2) Be mindful of surroundings

Always keep phones locked to prevent unauthorized access to the apps being used. When in a public place, remain vigilant while inputting sensitive personal information.

(3) Never share One-Time Passwords (OTPs)

There are times when passwords are forgotten, so borrowers use the "Forgot Password" button to reset their password and create a new one. To complete the reset, an OTP will be received. This OTP, or any OTP received from Bukas is highly confidential. This means only the applicant should know it and no one else.

Paying for Previous and Current Semesters

Borrowers can apply for a Bukas Student Loan to cover their remaining balance from the previous semester as well as the current semester.

To do this, make sure to submit a School Assessment Form or a Statement of Account that clearly shows both the previous and current tuition balance.

Bayanihan to Recover as One Act (BARO Act) 60-day Grace Period

In compliance with R.A. No. 11494 otherwise known as the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act (BARO Act) and Securities and Exchange Commission Notice dated 21 September 2020 (SEC Notice dated 09/21/20), Bukas will be implementing a one-time 60-day grace period for qualified customers with existing installment plans as of September 15, 2020.

What is the BARO Act?
The Bayanihan to Recover as One Act or BARO Act provides an additional 60-day grace period to all Bukas students with existing contracts as of Sept. 15, 2020. If you are qualified, this means that your scheduled monthly payments will be moved by an additional 60 days. For example, if your next due date falls on October 14, we will move that scheduled payment to December 14. All succeeding payment dates in the original schedule are then adjusted by 60 days.
Will the grace period be applied to all Bukas customers?
No. Based on the BARO Act, the 60-day grace period will only apply to customers with existing contracts as of Sept. 15, 2020. If you are qualified, then the grace period will automatically be applied to your account. You may login your Bukas account and check the adjusted repayment schedule by Oct. 23, 2020. If you are qualified but did not get the adjusted schedule, you may reach out to us at info@bukas.ph or send us a message on Facebook.
Are there additional fees such as late fees, penalties and interest on interests?
No. There will be no additional interest on interests, late fees or penalties during the grace period to future payments of the borrowers as stated in section 4(uu) of the BARO Act and SEC Notice dated 09/21/20.

However, the chargeable interest based on the outstanding balance of the loan, or ACCRUED INTEREST, shall continue to accrue during the 60-day grace period in accordance with Section 4 (uu) of the BARO Act.
What is accrued interest? How is this different from “interest on interests” and “late fees”?

Accrued Interest is the amount of interest charged on the unpaid principal due to the payment deferrals and is allowed under the BARO Act. Total accrued interest incurred during the grace period, will be equally split and added to the remaining scheduled payments.

Interest on Interest is additional interest charged on your unpaid loan and your accrued interest. There will be no interest on interest charged as mentioned in the BARO Act.

The accrued interest from the grace period will be split evenly on the remaining monthly repayments. Yes, qualified students may choose to opt out of the 60-day grace period and continue with their original installment plan. If you prefer to stick to your originally scheduled payments, you can opt-out of the Grace Period plan by replying to the opt-out SMS we sent to qualified accounts. By opting out, your monthly repayment amount and due dates will remain the same based on your original contract prior to the application of the 60-day grace period.
How do I opt out?
If you’re qualified for the 60-day grace period, you will receive an SMS with the opt out instructions. Follow the instructions and wait for an email from info@bukas.ph. The email will confirm that you have opted out.

What happens if the convenience fee is not paid?

Can Dragonpay be used multiple times on the same day?
- Yes, but a convenience fee applies to each transaction. Ensure the balance is exact by checking the Bukas account.

Does a pending Dragonpay payment expire?

What is Multiple Installment Plans (MIP)?

Multiple Installment Plans (MIP) refers to having two or more Bukas Student Loan plans active simultaneously. This option is available for Borrowers who need additional tuition coverage and wish to apply for a new plan on top of their current one. This allows Borrowers to manage ongoing education costs effectively by providing continuous financial support.

MIP Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for MIP, Borrowers must meet these key requirements:

60 days should have passed from the activation date of the most recent student loan plan.
At least three (3) repayments must have been successfully made on the recent plan.
Must demonstrate good payment behavior with Bukas student loans.

How to Apply for MIP

The "College Loan" or "Short Term Course" button is available on a Borrower's Bukas account only if the Borrower is eligible to apply again. If this button is not visible, Borrowers should check if they meet the eligibility requirements mentioned above.

When reapplying, Borrowers will be asked to select their identity. Please note that account owners cannot be changed in between installment plans. This means that student-owned accounts cannot become parent-owned accounts in succeeding loans. Borrowers should ensure they enter their details accordingly.

Borrowers will repeat the same application submission steps. Hence, they will be asked to provide updated application details such as a co-borrower and updated documents (School Assessment Form, Proof of Residence, and Proof of Income).

All applications will undergo a thorough review and will still be subject to approval. It will take 3-5 business days, excluding weekends and holidays, before Borrowers receive the final result.

How to Maintain MIP

Having more than one installment plan also means managing more than one set of monthly dues. Here are some tips on how to maintain Multiple Tuition Installment Plans:

Use the payment dashboard on the Bukas account. This dashboard helps Borrowers keep track of their Multiple Installment Plans and their respective due dates. The table is updated every time a payment is made, allowing Borrowers to note which months need to be settled for each installment plan. Please note that the payment table updates only 1-3 business days after making a deposit.
Indicate the correct Bukas Reference Code/Number. When settling the monthly dues for installment plans, it is important to indicate the reference code or installment number for the specific plan being paid for. Borrowers will need to make separate transactions or deposits per installment plan to ensure payment is recorded for that specific plan’s payment dashboard.
Consider paying all dues on the same day. While repayment dates cannot be changed for any installment plan after its approval, Borrowers may opt to pay their Multiple Installment Plans’ dues all on the same day to avoid the hassle of handling multiple transactions on different days of the month. Borrowers should take note of Tip 2 and the schedule of their payment due dates so that none of their installment plans are past their due date.
- Example: If Plan #1 is due on June 15 and Plan #2 is due on June 26, Borrowers may pay every 13th of the month for both installment plans. That way, neither is past due, and both accounts are settled in one day.

Paying via Dragonpay

What is Dragonpay?

Dragonpay is an online payment platform that now allows Bukas users to pay for their tuition installment plans without using traditional forms of payments like credit card and PayPal. Now they can use their online banking facility or pay cash over-the-counter at physical retail channels. Dragonpay automatically monitors the online and offline payments and notifies Bukas of a completed payment so we can credit it to your agreement.

How to pay my dues using DragonPay?

To use Dragonpay, you’ll need to do the following:

Login to your account at app.bukas.ph/login
Click the “My Installments” tab
Click the Installment Plan that you would like to pay for
Scroll down to “Payment Method”, open “Dragonpay” and click “Pay installment via Dragonpay”
If you would want to pay your full amount due for the month, click the “Full amount due”option. If you wish to pay any amount other than your full amount due for the month, click the “Set amount” option and input the desired amount you will pay.
Select the payment channel you would like to use (i.e. Over-the-counter non-banks, Over-the-counter banking or Online banking) Note: A convenience fee will be charged in addition to your total due depending on the channel you picked. Once you select a payment channel, you will be redirected to the Dragonpay portal for further instructions.
Follow the step-by-step instructions by Dragonpay and make sure to pay the exact amount stated in your Dragonpay payment instructions on time to avoid penalties or canceled transactions.
Once you've paid, make sure to keep your receipt or deposit slip with you. Login your Bukas account after 1 business day to check if your transaction was processed. If not, contact us and send your receipt as proof.

Note: Make sure to follow the instructions provided by Dragonpay and only use the Dragonpay reference code when paying. Do not use the Bukas reference code.

How much are the fees when using Dragonpay?

Depending on the payment method selected, there will be an additional convenience fee for using Dragonpay. Below are the convenience fees for each.

E-banking or Online Banking - P10 per transaction
Over-the-counter Banking - P15 per transaction
Over-the-counter Non-banks - P20 per transaction

What is a “convenience fee”?

A convenience fee is a small fee charged by Dragonpay for using their payment platform.

Who pays for the “convenience fee”?

Convenience fees shall be paid by the user/student. It will be charged for every payment transaction done with Dragonpay. For example, if the convenience fee is P10 per transaction and the student’s monthly due is P3,025, then every month the student pays a total of P3,035 when using a Dragonpay channel.

What happens if I forgot to pay for the convenience fee or service charge while using an online banking application supported by Dragonpay?

In case you don’t pay for your convenience fee, your payment will not be successful. This means that your payment will not reflect in our system and your monthly due in your payment dashboard will not be marked as “paid”. So, make sure that you follow the exact amount to be paid on the payment instructions sent by Dragonpay through your email address or your contact number because it already includes the convenience fee.

What are the available Dragonpay payment channels for Bukas installment plan repayments?

Over-the-counter and online banking facilities of BDO, BPI, Metrobank, Landbank, and many other banks are available. Other non-bank over-the-counter payment channels such as 7-Eleven, Cebuana Lhuillier, LBC, etc. are also available. Can I pay partial/excess amounts using Dragonpay?

Yes, you can pay for the partial/excess amounts using Dragonpay by simply following the steps in here.

What if I was supposed to pay PhP3025.00 this month to complete my monthly due but I accidentally paid PhP3020.00. I paid for the PhP3020.00 via Dragonpay. Can I pay for the remaining PhP5.00 by using Dragonpay again on the same day?

Yes, you may use the Dragonpay payment option more than once within the day. However, please take note of the convenience fee for every Dragonpay transaction so we encourage paying the full amount.

I have a pending payment via Dragonpay. Does it have an expiration or can I pay anytime?

Dragonpay pending transactions can only paid during a specified amount of time depending on the payment channel selected. Once past the deadline, the transaction will expire and you must create a new transaction by logging in your Bukas account and selecting Dragonpay again. To check the payment deadline or validity period of your transaction, please look for the "Deadline" listed under the Payment Instructions sent by Dragonpay.

I paid via Dragonpay already but the account is not updated yet.

Please wait 1 to 2 business days for your payment to reflect on your Bukas account since not all channels are updated in real time. If there are still issues, send us a message on Facebook or email us at info@bukas.ph with proof of payment and/or your deposit slip.

I tried to pay using Dragonpay but my payment was denied.

Make sure you paid the correct amount and also entered the correct reference code or ID. If you continue to have issues, send us a message or you may reach out to DragonPay directly.

I tried to pay with Dragonpay but did not receive any email instructions.

Make sure the email you provided is correct. If so, check the SPAM folder of your email to see if the instructions were sent there. If not, contact Dragonpay directly.

My due date falls on a weekend. How can I pay if banks are closed?

Now you can pay for your monthly dues even on weekends with Dragonpay over-the-counter payments through Cebuana Lhuillier, LBC, M Lhuillier, Robinsons Dept. Store, SM Dept. Store and many more!

I tried paying using Dragonpay but I can't find my preferred payment channel?

Dragonpay offers over a dozen payment channels from banks to non-banks but availability will depend on the partner channel's schedule. For example, Bank OTC via Dragonpay may not be available during weekends. If your preferred channel is not available, it would be best to select an alternative channel to avoid payment delays and penalty fees.

What are the instances where a refund request from Dragonpay should be made?

Dragonpay may issue a refund under the following circumstances:

A deposit was never validated successfully by the customer possibly because: the customer did not perform the validation step; the amount paid was incorrect; or the validation details provided were incorrect.
A deposit was successfully validated less than four (4) days ago, but the merchant gave Dragonpay the instruction to perform a direct refund for whatever reason.

What is the process for the refund request from Dragonpay? How long does it take?

To process the refund, you must go to this site: https://www.dragonpay.ph/refund/ and click on the “online refund form” tab at the lower portion of the page. Then, fill out the form and click submit. Once you have submitted the online refund form, kindly wait for their email confirmation either within the day or until the next day. Once you have received the confirmation, kindly send a copy to us at info@bukas.ph. However, if you did not receive an email confirmation from Dragonpay, you may message us in our Facebook messenger or send an email to info@bukas.ph for us to help you follow up on your refund request. Please allow 14 business/working days for the refund to be completed.

Reminders for Dragonpay Payments:

For safety reasons and to avoid online fraud, please do not share your card number with anyone. Dragonpay may ask for an image of your ATM Card for your refund request. However, you have to make sure that the 16-digit card number at the front of your ATM card and the 3-digit CVV at the back of your ATM card should be covered. The details that need to be shown in your ATM card image should be your account number and account name only. Please take note that account number is different from card number.
In connection with refund requests, Dragonpay does not issue cash refunds for pick-up or for door-to-door remittance. The supported banks for refunds are the following — AUB, BDO, BPI, BPI Family, Metrobank, Unionbank, RCBC, RCBC Savings, PNB, UCPB, Chinabank, Security Bank and Landbank. Furthermore, some of these banks may charge a handling fee when depositing to a provincial account. Should there be any such fees, it will be deducted from the amount to be refunded. They also support refunds to GCash Wallets. Refund requests must be received by Dragonpay within 30 days from the date of deposit or payment. Beyond that, Dragonpay will no longer entertain such requests.

Open and login your Gcash app on your mobile phone.
On the dashboard, go to “Pay Bills”.
Under “Biller Categories”, select “Schools”.
Search and select “Bukas Finance Corp.”
Enter the complete name of the student, the reference number and amount you would like to pay. You can find your plan’s reference/installment number under the “My Installments” tab of your Bukas account.
Review your details and click “Confirm” to pay.

Note: Gcash will charge an additional P20 service fee for each transaction. Make sure you have enough balance to pay the full amount plus service fee.

Where can we get the reference code that we need for GCASH?
Kindly use your Bukas Installment Plan Reference Code. You will be able to find this on your disclosure statement or on your My Installments Tab on your Bukas Portal.
I received a text from GCASH that my payment will be posted on the next business day, but why don’t I see it on my Bukas Account?
It takes up to 24 hours for GCASH to reflect your payments on their app. Separately, You will receive an SMS once your payment reflects in our system. This would take about 1-3 business days (excludes weekends and holidays). You can also log-in to your Bukas account to check out your payment dashboard!
What do I do if I’ve sent the payment but I entered the wrong reference code.
Please send your full name, installment number, and contact number along with your proof of payment with a subject "Payment Concerns" to payments@bukas.ph. manner.
I can’t find Bukas Finance Corp. under the Loans. How do I pay?
You will be able to find Bukas Finance Corp under the School category instead.
Can I make partial or advance payments to Bukas using Gcash?
Yes! You can enter any amount you’d like on Gcash to make partial, full or advance payments to Bukas Finance Corp.
Does Gcash charge a transaction fee when I use it to pay for my Bukas dues?
Yes, Gcash charges a P20 fee for every transaction. Make sure your Gcash balance is enough to cover your dues plus the transaction fee to avoid failed payments.

Additional Reminders involving all our Payment Channels

The Bukas Installment Number or Reference Code is alphanumeric, the first three (3) characters are letters and succeeding seven (7) characters are numbers. Make sure to write legibly so that UnionBank orBayad Center can process your payment correctly.
If your due date falls on a weekend or on a holiday, please pay for your installment plan before the due date or pay for it through online banking and non-bank over-the-counter payment channels like Cebuana.Lhuillier, LBC, etc.via DragonPay. In case of late payments, there will be a late payment fee amounting to 5% of the unpaid balance.
If you have paid on time but the payment made does not reflect on your payment dashboard, please wait for 2-3 business days. You will receive an SMS once it reflects on your dashboard.
No need to send a screenshot of your payment slip. You can check your dashboard in your Bukas account to see if the payment was reflected. It normally takes around 2-3 business days for it to appear on your dashboard.

OPT OUT GUIDELINES

I opted-out via SMS. What should I do next?
Kindly wait for an email to be received from info@bukas.ph. This email confirms that we have received your opt-out and will provide the succeeding instructions. The original payment schedule will reflect after paying the amounts originally due between Mar 16 to May 31. Please pay these on or before your original due date after ECQ is lifted. There are no late fees charged for the period during quarantine. If you did not receive this email, send us a message on Facebook or email us at info@bukas.ph so we can assist you.
My payment schedule is still using the 30-day extension. When will it reflect back my original schedule?
If you do not have any past due amounts prior to the ECQ, then you need to pay your previous due amounts (amounts affected by the ECQ) along with your next due amount on or before your next available due date (original due date after ECQ) to revert your account back to the original payment schedule. Afterwards, the original repayment dates should reflect within 2 business days.
If you have past due amounts prior to the ECQ, then you cannot revert back to your original payment schedule. You will follow the extended payment schedule.

Customer availed of a Tuition Installment Plan with the following details:
Total Principal Amount: PHP 30,000
Monthly Repayment: PHP 3,025
Scheduled Repayment: Every 16th of the month

What if a student does not have a student ID to use for their Bukas student loan application?

In lieu of a student ID from the school, Borrowers may use any of the government-issued IDs below:

Passport
Driver's License (including Student Permits with official receipt)
Postal ID (old postal IDs must have a photo of both front and back)
Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID)
National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance

It is a requirement that a student must be enrolled in one of our partner schools before applying for a Bukas Student Loan. What happens after submitting the minimum requirements?

After submitting the minimum requirements, Borrowers can kindly expect initial feedback within 1-2 business days. Updates for the application status will be received via SMS and e-mail. We also suggest that Borrowers regularly check their Bukas account for status updates.

What is the COVID Waive of Late Payments?
If your deadline is during the extended enhanced community quarantine period and you are unable to avail of our online payment options or are unable to pay for any other reason during this time, we can waive any late penalty that is incurred for any due date between April 16- April 30, 2020 provided that you follow the steps mentioned below to request for a waive of late penalty fees.
How do I request to waive my late payment fee?
You have to email info@bukas.ph with the email address tied to your Bukas account. The email should have the subject ‘Request to Waive Late Penalty’ and should contain the following details:
a. Student’s Complete Name and Mobile Number
b.Reference Number
c.Guardian’s Complete Name and Mobile Number
d.Your scheduled due date
e. Your official request
When will you waive my late payment fee?
We can only process the waiving of late payment fee after our system recognizes your payment. That is, we can only waive after your payment has been made. So when you are able to pay, kindly send over the proof of payment to info@bukas.ph so we can process your request to waive the late fee.

If you are paying via UnionBank or Bayad Center you can pay the monthly due alone. If you are paying via DragonPay, since it can only accommodate full monthly payments, the excess amount you pay out because of the late fee will be credited to your next monthly due after we waive the current late payment fee.
I have more than one Bukas Installment Plan, can I request to waive the late penalty fee for both plans?
Yes you may, provided that you follow the instructions mentioned in Question 2 (see above). Please specify the 2 reference codes for your loans in 1 email.
When will I be notified that my request is approved?
Once you are able to pay, kindly send over the proof of payment to info@bukas.ph so we can process your request to waive the late fee. Once we've replied that the waiving of late penalty fee is successful, please wait 1-2 business days for it to reflect in your payment dashboard.
