Q: What fees are covered by Bukas?

Bukas Flex can cover tuition-related fees and divide them into 3, 6, 9, or 12 monthly installments. Kasama rito ang per unit fee, mga miscellaneous fees, at iba pang bayarin na dapat ay makikita sa school assessment form na kailangan mong i-upload para makapagsubmit ng application. Note that short-term loans are currently offered to select schools. Upon processing your loan application, our team may assess a different length of loan than the one you selected. This is done to put you in the best position to manage your loan. You may apply for either the previous tuition balance or the current semester's balance. Then, apply again for another plan that will pay for the upcoming semester's balance once you’re eligible to reapply. Yes, pwedeng magkaroon ng isa pang tuition installment plan while your previous plan is still ongoing. Ito ang tinatawag nating Multiple Installment Plans ! If Bukas is integrated into the school portal or enrollment system, we will automatically compute your past and current balances. As long as you are eligible to apply, you can reapply for a Bukas All-in Plan during the enrollment period!

Q: Does Bukas offer installment plans to high school and senior high school students?

Unfortunately, for now, no. Currently, undergraduate (college) and graduate programs pa lang ang pwede sa Bukas tuition installment plans. But don’t worry! We’re doing our best to serve as many students as we can. For now, you may get in touch with us through this form , or you may follow us on Facebook and other social media pages to stay updated!

Q: If I forgot my password, what do I do?

Don’t worry! Kung nakalimutan mo ang password mo , you can simply click the “Forgot Password?” button when you try to login at Bukas . Afterwards, ilagay lang ang mobile number na ginamit mo to create your Bukas account and click the "Recover Your Account" button. Hintayin ang 6-digit OTP from Bukas sa iyong mobile phone at gamitin ito para gumawa ng bagong password. If you encounter issues with your student number, double-check and make sure you are entering your student number correctly! If you continue to have issues, you may have a duplicate account. Kindly let us know by answering our Contact Us form . When answering the Contact Us form, please select Profile Updates/Concerns in the Type of Concern field and type in your student number in the " How can we help you? " field.

Q: How long is the application process and can I follow up?

After you submit your application, it takes around 3-5 working days for you to receive feedback from our team. Kung meron kang items for revision, the application may take longer than usual! Kaya naman siguraduhing gawin agad ang mga ito. To guide you better, you can check out this page . Kung wala ka namang items for revision but the results are taking longer than 3-5 working days after completing your revisions or after submitting an application, feel free to send us a message through our Contact Us form . Please select " Application Concern " for this type of concern. Once your application has been approved and you've confirmed the agreement, we will disburse the amount within 1-2 working days . Note: Working days are Mondays to Fridays, from 9 AM to 5 PM. Weekends and holidays are not included.

How do I apply for a Bukas tuition installment plan?

Applying for a Bukas plan is now simpler, easier, and faster!

Create an account at app.bukas.ph. Register your mobile number and your OTP.
Parents can now create an account and manage the loans of their students.

Verify your identity by preparing a valid ID and completing the Liveness Test.
Start your application by selecting College Installment and entering your school’s name. Select the best payment option for you and the amount that you need for the student’s tuition. It should be the amount on their school assessment form! Choose your preferred term (installment length).
Indicate whether you are a student or a parent.
Note that once you have selected an account owner, you will not be able to change this for future multiple loans
Enter your, your co-borrower’s, and additional contact person’s information.
Submit your application and wait for feedback on your application. In 1-2 working days we will let you know if your application has been PRE-APPROVED.
Pre-approved borrowers will need to upload the documentary requirements listed here. Please advise your co-borrower that a link will be sent to them for verification. Without this, we will not be able to proceed with your application. You will receive the FINAL RESULTS of your application in 3-5 business days.
To fully review and process your application, our Assessment team may ask you to revise some details (sample reason for revisions: blurred picture, outdated document, etc.). Applications with unresolved revisions will remain on hold which is why we highly suggest completing the required revisions immediately.
APPROVED borrowers and their co-borrowers will need to confirm the agreement. You will receive an SMS informing you that we've disbursed the approved amount to the school.

Additional documents may be required by our Assessment Team. Please keep your lines open as they may reach out to you via call or email. Follow all instructions carefully to get the final result of your application faster.

Step 2: Click the “Revise your Information” button. Makikita mo ito sa upper part ng homepage.

Step 3: Make sure to follow the instructions on how to edit your application details to avoid receiving the same revisions over and over again.

The Bukas Tuition Installment Plan is a reliable and hassle-free alternative tuition payment for students. Para maging mas magaan ang pagbabayad, Bukas can cover up to 100% of the student’s tuition balance which you can pay in monthly installments.

What is Bukas Flex?

In line with the recent systems update in 2024, we introduce Bukas Flex. It is still your trusted Bukas tuition installment plans but improved to better suit the needs of our student borrowers. Through greater flexibility in pricing, including loan tenor, Bukas continues to provide the best possible tuition plans for more students to finance their studies for their future.

Note: An installment plan, or in tagalog, hulugan, is a payment method where a person can pay an amount over a specified period of time. Lalo na kung malaki ang kailangan bayaran katulad ng mobile phones, appliances, tuition, etc.

Starting April 1, 2023, you can now select the installment length (tenor) that works best for you! Bukas offers installment lengths from 3, 6, 9 to 12 months.

Can I apply for another plan even if I have an existing installment plan?

Yes, you can apply for another installment plan even if you still have an existing plan! You can do so 60 days after the activation date of your most recent tuition installment plan. This is called having Multiple Installment Plans (MIP).

A good payment behavior in your tuition installment plans with us will help you become eligible for Multiple Installment Plans (MIP). But the list does not end there! Question 12

How much interest do I have to pay?

Interest rates may vary per school and application evaluation by the Bukas team.

Our Bukas Flex standard interest rates range from 1.90% to 4.90% interest rate per month, with a one-time processing fee that ranges from 4.50% to 10% of the requested amount. This processing fee is added to your principal amount for us to continuously improve our service and serve you better. Your application will be evaluated and the Bukas team will inform you of the final rates, if approved.

Example: Kung hihiram ka ng PHP 30,000 (principal amount) for your tuition next semester, you will need to pay Php 3,182.50 to Bukas every month. This amount already includes a 4.5% origination fee amounting to PHP 1,350.00 divided by 12 months plus monthly interest amounting to PHP 570.00

Also, Bukas Flex is available in short-term loans of 3, 6, or 9 months installment options! If you opt for a shorter installment length, you may save more in the monthly interest. Note, however, that short-term loans are currently offered to select schools.

My approved amount is more than the tuition amount I need. What should I do?

Don’t worry! There are cases when a requested tuition plan amount is not the same as the approved tuition plan amount. Kung mas malaki ang approved amount mo than the student’s current tuition balance, the excess tuition payment will be carried over for the student’s next semester. However, since schools differ in policies, we recommend that you directly ask the student’s school regarding this situation.

My approved amount is less than the tuition amount I need. What should I do?

Accepted Answer

Don’t worry! There are cases when a requested tuition plan amount is not the same as the approved tuition plan amount. Take note that once approved na ang iyong application, you can no longer request for a reconsideration of the approved amount. Kung mas maliit ang approved amount mo compared to your current tuition balance, you have the option to confirm your agreement now and apply for another plan after 60 days from your previous application as long as you are eligible (see more details here).

What valid documents do I need to apply for a tuition installment plan?

Valid documents help us verify your and your co-borrower’s identity. Para sa mabilis at hassle-free na application, make sure to prepare these information:

As a Borrower, aside from your personal information, you will need to prepare:

One (1) school ID or any valid ID (list of valid IDs)
One (1) proof of residence (list of valid proof of residence)
Your school assessment form (guidelines)
Additional Contact Person

As a co-borrower, aside from your personal and employment information, you may need to prepare:

Either the borrower and co-borrower, or both, will need to provide a source of income. (list of valid proof of income)

What should I do if I am having trouble uploading my files?

You can try again! Siguraduhin lang na meron kang stable internet connection at hindi mas malaki sa 10MB ang mga files mo. You can also try logging in to a different device when you re-upload your files.

Question 19

What is a co-borrower?

A co-borrower is an additional borrower who can be a spouse, parent, sibling, or any family member, or even a friend, who will be equally liable for the loan.

When entering a loan contract with a co-borrower, both individuals will need to sign. Because both borrower and co-borrower are equally responsible to pay the loan, both will receive collection reminders.

Having a co-borrower puts someone in a better position to manage a loan. Once your loan agreement is activated, the borrower will need to keep both individuals' information updated. (e.g. when updating mobile number, address, etc.)

What are the requirements to be a co-borrower?

The co-borrower needs to be at least 18 years old, must be contactable, and should reside in the Philippines.
Co-borrowers will be asked to provide consent through a link via SMS, wherein they will be asked to submit a copy of their Government-issued valid ID. They may also be required to provide additional documents such as proof of residence. For faster processing, it would be best to prepare the documents listed here.

Who should provide a proof of income?

Only one individual is required to provide a proof of income. This can come from the borrower or the co-borrower. It is also acceptable for both individuals to upload one proof of income each. To see a list of valid Proof of Income, please see here.

During application, you will be asked if the Borrower and/or Co-Borrower has a source of income (e.g. own business, employed/salary, receives remittances from OFW, etc). Select “Yes” and enter their income information.

Can I nominate an OFW as my co-borrower?

Overseas Filipino Workers cannot be considered a co-borrower. Kindly nominate another relative/friend who would sign the agreement as your co-borrower.

How do I input income details if we receive funds from an OFW?

If you or your co-borrower receives funds from an OFW, we recommend that you nominate the receiver of the remittance as the income earner. By doing this you will be able to submit the OFW’s income information under your or your co-borrower's profile.

Sample Scenario:
If you (the student) are the applicant and your father is an OFW while the recipient of his remittances is your mother, you can indicate the following:

Borrower information: Student
Co-Borrower information: Mother
Income earner information: Father
OFW information: Father

Why are you asking me to revise my co-borrower?

Depending on the assessment of our team, we may require a different co-borrower for your application. This instruction is given to help put you in the best position to manage your loan.

Sa pagpili ng bagong Co-borrower, take note this individual will be equally responsible as you in paying for your tuition installment plan.

Question 20

What is an additional contact person?

Accepted Answer

For your application, you will be required to nominate an additional contact reference.

Pwede mong ilagay ang magulang, kapatid, or close relative mo as your additional contact person as long as they are at least 18 years old and is currently residing in the Philippines. This means an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) will not be allowed as your additional contact person.

Although your additional contact person may be asked to verify their identity through a link that will be sent via SMS, they will not receive regular payment reminders. They will only be contacted if we are unable to reach both you and your co-borrower in case of an emergency. Please note that they might also receive minimal collection reminders.

How do I get my Facebook URL for my Bukas Application?

Please take note that this step is only optional. You can skip this step and proceed with the application submission. You don't need this anymore for your Bukas Tuition Installment Plan since we've made it even more convenient for you!

To link your Facebook account to your Bukas profile, you'll need to get your unique Facebook URL from your profile. Below are the steps to get the URL using a desktop browser or the mobile Facebook app.

If you are using Facebook on a desktop browser:

Login to your Facebook account.
From the homepage, click your profile.
On the address bar of your browser, highlight the complete Facebook URL (should look like this: www.facebook.com/your_fb_id), right click the highlighted URL and click copy.
Go back to your Bukas profile and paste it on the Facebook URL field.

If you are using the Facebook App on a mobile phone:

Open your Facebook app and login to your Facebook account.
From the homepage, click the menu icon on the upper right (looks like three horizontal lines)
Click your profile photo or "See your profile" under your name.
Click the "Profile Settings" tab (looks like three dots).
Scroll down to "Your Profile Link" and click "Copy Link" to copy your complete Facebook profile (should look like this: www.facebook.com/your_fb_id).
Go back to your Bukas profile and paste it on the Facebook URL field.

Question 22

Why does my disclosure statement contain repayment dates earlier than today?

The dates on your disclosure payment are not yet final and will be updated once you complete the confirmation process.

The first repayment date will always be set to at least one (1) month after your tuition installment plan is successfully confirmed.

How can I improve my chances of approval?

Accepted Answer

For new applicants, as long as you complete all the requirements without any errors, you could expect a faster application process. In case you have items for revision, make sure that you follow the instructions and that you complete your revisions immediately. As much as possible, the tuition balance on the student’s school assessment form or statement of account should match the amount requested. You may also request an amount that is lower than the tuition balance stated on the school assessment form.

How do I revise my profile details?

Get your application approved faster by keeping your details updated! To revise your details, sundin lang ang mga sumusunod na steps:

Step 1: Log in to your Bukas account.

Step 2: Click “Revise your Information” button. Makikita mo ito sa upper part ng homepage.

Step 3: Click the “Profile Details Revisions Required” button.

Step 4: Simply follow the instructions on how to edit your profile details or retake your photos to make them acceptable before clicking next.

Kapag natapos mo na ang mga required revisions for your profile, your application status will be updated and should look like this on your homepage:

Note: Your profile and your application form are different from each other, and may need separate revisions. Application form includes your student number, school assessment form, and selfie with ID file. On the other hand, profile details include your guardian and co-borrower information, proof of residence, proof of income, report card file, and all other information not included in the application form. Why do I need to revise my details?

Every application is thoroughly reviewed and evaluated by our operations team. Para sa mas mabilis at hassle free na application, we encourage students to complete the required revisions as soon as possible. Kung wala ka pa ring natatanggap na application results after 5 working days, please log in to your Bukas account to check for possible revisions. We’re doing our best to get back to you the soonest, and revising your details helps shorten our reviewing process.

How can I avoid delays in my application?

The application process usually takes around 3-5 workings day (excluding weekends and holidays). However, it may take longer than usual when there is a high volume of applications o kaya naman kung may required revisions sa profile at application mo. Para mapabilis ang application mo at maiwasan ang delays, take note of the following tips:

1. Take a proper selfie with a valid ID

Tip #1: Make sure to upload a clear photo of yourself holding your ID.
Tip #2: The details on your ID should be readable and your face should be fully seen. Do not cover any part of your ID or face.
Tip #3: Use the back camera of your phone to take your photo for higher image resolution.
Tip #4: Remove your ID from your case.

2. Make sure that your proof of residence is acceptable

Tip #1: The address on your proof of residence should exactly match the address stated on your Bukas profile.
Tip # 2: Your proof of residence should be one of the following documents:
- Barangay Certificate
- Water Bill *
- Electricity Bill *
- Landline Phone Bill *
- Postpaid line bill *
- Internet Bill *
- Bank statement with Address *
- Credit Card Statement of Account (SoA) *
- Lease Contract

Items with an asterisk (*) - These documents have to be dated within the last 3 months.

Tip #3: The uploaded file must show the entire page of your proof of residence and not just a portion of it. Do not fold or cover any part of your proof of residence.
Tip #4: You may use a proof of residence named under you (the applicant/borrower) or your co-borrower. However, kung hindi isa sa inyo nakapangalan ang proof of residence, please send us an email at info@bukas.ph with another proof of residence and state your relationship with the owner of that document.
Tip #5: When uploading files, make sure na meron kang stable internet connection at hindi lalagpas sa 10MB ang mga files mo. You can also try logging in to a different device when you re-upload your files. If these options still did not help, you can send us an email through our Contact Us Page. 3. Make sure that your proof of income file is acceptable

Tip #1: Make sure that the details on your proof of income match exactly with the details on your Bukas profile.
Tip #2: Your guarantor's proof of income should be one of the following documents:

- Certificate of Employment with monthly income
- Payslips (Official copy/ Screenshot on employee portal)*

The same revisions are being sent back over and over again. What am I doing wrong?

Kung nakatanggap ka ulit ng SMS o email instructing you to revise the same documents, this means that the changes you made are still invalid. Don’t worry! You can always make the revisions directly on your Bukas profile. Para makasiguradong tama ang ginagawang revisions, please read and follow the instructions carefully sent to your email and on your Bukas account too! Hangga't may revisions required pa rin, you will not receive the final assessment of your application. Complete your revisions as soon as possible upang maiwasan ang any delays in your application.

Question 29

Why are you asking me to revise my guarantor?

Accepted Answer

Depending on the assessment of our team, we may require a different guarantor for your application. This instruction is given to help improve your chances of approval.

Sa pagpili ng bagging guarantor, take note that he/she will be primarily responsible to help you pay for your tuition installment plan once approved and disbursed to the school. A guarantor can also be working abroad or residing outside the Philippines.

Question 30

What should I do if the amount disbursed did not reflect on my student portal?

Accepted Answer

Once your application is approved, Bukas remits the tuition fee directly to your school. You will be notified in real time through SMS and you can also refer to the disclosure statement from your Bukas account as our proof of payment.

Pwede mo rin tignan ang Bukas account mo to check if the status is “active” since this would confirm that money has been disbursed to your school.

Kung hindi pa rin updated ang tuition payment status in your student portal, we suggest that you directly coordinate with your school.

Question 31

When do I start paying Bukas?

Your first repayment date will be set at least 30 days after the agreement date. The agreement date is the same day when the fund is paid to the student’s school.

Currently, you can pay via GCASH, Maya , Unionbank over the counter, Unionbank online, RCBC Online Banking, RCBC over the counter, official Bayad Center branches, and through over 3,000 Dragonpay partner channels, either online or over-the-counter (BPI, BDO, Metrobank, RCBC, 7-Eleven, SM Dept. Store, Cebuana Lhuillier, etc.).

Do you accept credit card payments?

We currently do not accept credit card payments. Feel free to browse through our other payment channels.

Do you accept cheque payments?

If you intend to pay your Bukas Tuition Installment Plan using an issued cheque, you can opt to deposit the check amount to your personal bank account and then pay through your bank via DragonPay.

Where can I check my updated balance?

Don’t worry! Para malaman ang updated balance mo, simply log in to your Bukas account and check your ‘My Installment’ tab. Piliin lang ang installment plan na gusto mong makita at pumunta sa payment dashboard.

I paid but my payment is not reflecting in my account. What should I do?

After paying your monthly installment, please wait 1-3 working days for your payment to reflect on your Bukas account, specifically in your payment dashboard. Please note that you can only track the payments using the account where the application for the installment was done. Makakatanggap ka rin ng SMS once your payment reflects in our system.

Question 35

What happens if I don't pay on or before my due date?

As much as possible, we encourage our borrowers to pay their plans on time para maiwasan ang pagbabayad ng late payment fee.

A late payment fee is equivalent to 5% of your unpaid monthly installment amount.

Example: Your monthly installment amount is Php 3,025.00.

Kung hindi ka makapagbayad on time, you will be charged an additional Php 151.25 (5% of P3,025) as your late payment fee.

Can I change my repayment dates?

No. Unfortunately, hindi na mababago ang repayment dates once confirmed at activated na ang agreement. However, you may choose to pay earlier than your repayment date instead.

Can I pay in advance?

Accepted Answer

Yes! You can pay more than your monthly dues. Any excess payment ay mababawas sa iyo sa susunod na monthly due.

You can also pay your loan in full. We have no Pre-Termination charges. You may even be eligible for rebates!

Kung makakapagbayad ka ng total principal ng mas maaga sa last payment date mo, please send us an email at payments@bukas.ph to recompute the interest of your tuition installment plan.

What are Multiple Installment Plans (MIP)?

Multiple Installment Plans or MIP is having two or more tuition installment plans. Students who need additional tuition coverage may apply for a new installment plan on top of their current one. This is called having "Multiple Installment Plans".

Am I eligible for Multiple Installment Plans (MIP)?

As long as you meet the requirements, then you can avail of our Multiple Installment Plans (MIP)!

60 days should have passed from the activation date of your most recent installment plan.
Practice good payment behavior (not just in Bukas!), but especially in your monthly repayments to Bukas.

How do I apply for Multiple Installment Plans (MIP)?

If you’re eligible to apply, makikita mo ang "University or College" or "Short Course or Bootcamp" button kapag nag log-in ka sa iyong Bukas account.

When you apply for a new plan, you’ll need to fill in the application details on your existing account. Note that we cannot change account owners in between installment plans. This means that student-owned accounts cannot become parent-owned accounts in succeeding loans. Make sure to enter your details accordingly.

You also need to provide us with your updated documents (assessment form, proof of residence, and source of income).
Once you’ve submitted your new application, please wait 3-5 working days for feedback from our team.

Question 41

Now that I have more than one installment plan, how do I know how much to pay?

Accepted Answer

Having more than one tuition installment plan or Multiple Installment Plans (MIP) means paying multiple monthly dues. Don’t worry! Stay on track by regularly checking your payment dashboard on your Bukas account. Dito mo makikita ang lahat ng installment plans mo kasama ang kanya-kanya nilang monthly due dates.

Please note that you can only access your payments table using the same account that was used to submit the application. This means that if you were listed as a co-borrower, only the borrower (the account owner) has direct access to the repayments table.

Read on for more tips on managing your multiple installment plans:

Tip #1: Use the payment dashboard on your Bukas account to keep track of your Multiple Installment Plans and their respective due dates. This table is updated every time you pay so you can take note of which months need to be settled for each installment plan.

Your payment table updates only after 1-3 business days after making a deposit.

Tip #2: When settling monthly dues for your installment plans, it is important to indicate the reference code or installment number for the specific plan you are paying for. You will need to make separate transactions or deposits per installment plan to ensure your payment is recorded for that specific plan’s payment dashboard.

Tip #3 While we cannot change the repayment date for any installment plan after its approval, you may opt to pay your Multiple Installment Plans’ dues all on the same day to avoid the hassle of handling multiple transactions on different days of the month. Take note of tip #2 and the schedule of your payment due so that none of your installment plans are past their due date.

Example:

If plan #1 is due on June 15 and plan #2 is due on June 26, you may pay every 13th of the month for both your installment plans. That way, neither of them is due and you settle both accounts in 1 day.

Who can apply for a Bukas tuition installment plan?

Undergraduate (college) and Graduate School (Master’s, Doctorate, Law, and Medicine) students in any year level are welcome. While you need to be enrolled in one of our partner schools, walang required na maintaining grades para makapag-apply ka for a Bukas tuition installment plan.

Is there an extension of payment during the Enhanced Community Quarantine Period?

To support our students and their families, we will be offering a 30-day grace period which will automatically apply to customers with existing loan plans that have scheduled payments within March 16 - April 15, 2020. Payments due within this ECQ period will be deferred to the next month following the same schedule of payment for succeeding months. For further details click here

How am I affected by BARO Act?

In line with the BARO Act, Bukas has applied 60 day grace period for payments on September and October. This is why your payments have been marked as "Waived" and your maturity date has moved to a later date. See more information here.

How do I protect my information?

Accepted Answer

Dito sa Bukas, hindi lamang ang kinabukasan ng mga estudyante ang binibigyang importansya. To secure our borrowers’ information is also on top of our priority list.

While Bukas continues its efforts on information safekeeping, borrowers can also do their part in protecting their information. Narito ang mga major tips upang mapangalagaan ang inyong data:

Create a strong password, and do not share your password with anyone.

Hindi naman masamang magtago ng sikreto minsan kaya make sure na ikaw lang ang nakakaalam ng password mo for your Bukas account. Even a Bukas employee does not have the right to know your password.

Also, your password’s strength should be high para walang makakahula nito kaagad. Mix alphabets, numbers, and special characters. Then, make sure that you are not using the most obvious numbers for a password (such as your birthdate).

Be mindful of your surroundings.

Always keep your phone locked upang hindi basta-bastang ma-access ang mga apps na ginagamit mo. Kung nasa pampublikong lugar ka naman, maging mapagmatyag while you input sensitive personal information.

Never share your One-Time Password (OTP).

May mga pagkakataong nakakalimutan ang password kaya borrowers use the “Forgot Password” button to reset their password and create a new one. Upang makumpleto ang pag-reset, mayroong matatanggap na OTP. Ang OTP na ito o kahit anumang OTP na matatanggap mula sa Bukas, just like your password, is also highly confidential. Ibig sabihin, ikaw lang din dapat ang makakaalam at wala nang iba pa.

What is an installment plan?

Yes, you can borrow for your next term even if you still have an existing plan but it will be subject to qualifications. Please note that our team can approve or reject an application at any time if we find that you do not meet any of our qualifications.

Please take note that this step is only optional. You can skip this step and proceed with the application submission. You don't need this anymore for your Bukas Tuition Installment Plan since we've made it even more convenient for you!

To link your Facebook account to your Bukas profile, you'll need to get your unique Facebook URL from your profile. Below are the steps to get the URL using a desktop browser or the mobile Facebook app.

If you are using Facebook on a desktop browser:

Step 1: Login to your Facebook account.

Step 2: From the homepage, click your profile.

Step 3: On the address bar of your browser, highlight the complete Facebook URL (should look like this: www.facebook.com/your_fb_id), right click the highlighted URL and click copy.

Step 4: Go back to your Bukas profile and paste it on the Facebook URL field.

If you are using the Facebook App on a mobile phone:

Step 1: Open your Facebook app and login to your Facebook account.

Step 2: From the homepage, click the menu icon on the upper right (looks like three horizontal lines)

I want to pay for my previous and current semester. What do I do?

You can apply for a tuition installment plan to cover your remaining balance from the previous semester as well as the current semester. Make sure to submit a school assessment form or a statement of account that shows your previous and current tuition balance. Please note that the total amount to be approved will still depend on the assessment of our operations team. Also, it will be the school’s decision on how to deduct balances from the previous and current semester.

Bayanihan to Recover as One Act (BARO Act) 60-day Grace Period

In compliance with R.A. No. 11494 otherwise known as the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act (BARO Act) and Securities and Exchange Commission Notice dated 21 September 2020 (SEC Notice dated 09/21/20), Bukas will be implementing a one-time 60-day grace period for qualified customers with existing installment plans as of September 15, 2020.

What is the BARO Act?
The Bayanihan to Recover as One Act or BARO Act provides an additional 60-day grace period to all Bukas students with existing contracts as of Sept. 15, 2020. If you are qualified, this means that your scheduled monthly payments will be moved by an additional 60 days. For example, if your next due date falls on October 14, we will move that scheduled payment to December 14. All succeeding payment dates in the original schedule are then adjusted by 60 days.
Will the grace period be applied to all Bukas customers?
No. Based on the BARO Act, the 60-day grace period will only apply to customers with existing contracts as of Sept. 15, 2020. If you are qualified, then the grace period will automatically be applied to your account. You may login your Bukas account and check the adjusted repayment schedule by Oct. 23, 2020. If you are qualified but did not get the adjusted schedule, you may reach out to us at info@bukas.ph or send us a message on Facebook.
Are there additional fees such as late fees, penalties and interest on interests?
No. There will be no additional interest on interests, late fees or penalties during the grace period to future payments of the borrowers as stated in section 4(uu) of the BARO Act and SEC Notice dated 09/21/20.

However, the chargeable interest based on the outstanding balance of the loan, or ACCRUED INTEREST, shall continue to accrue during the 60-day grace period in accordance with Section 4 (uu) of the BARO Act.
What is accrued interest? How is this different from “interest on interests” and “late fees”?

Accrued Interest is the amount of interest charged on the unpaid principal due to the payment deferrals and is allowed under the BARO Act. Total accrued interest incurred during the grace period, will be equally split and added to the remaining scheduled payments.

Interest on Interest is additional interest charged on your unpaid loan and your accrued interest. There will be no interest on interest charged as mentioned in the BARO Act.

Late fees are additional fees charged monthly based on the total past due amount. There will be no additional late fees charged for existing and current contracts as of September 15, 2020 with due dates falling before December 31, 2020 as mentioned in the BARO Act.
What will happen to my monthly dues and repayment schedule after the implementation of the 60-day grace period?
See below for an example of the changes in your monthly repayment.

Sample Illustration:
Student availed of a Tuition Installment Plan on Aug. 14, 2020 with the following details:
Total Principal Amount: PHP 30,000
Monthly Repayment: PHP 3,025
Scheduled Repayment: Every 14th of the month

Original Due Date of Next Payment: Oct. 14, 2020
New Due Date of Next Payment after 60-day Grace Period: Dec. 14, 2020
Loan Term Extension: 2 months
Original Maturity Date: August 14, 2021
New Maturity Date: October 14, 2021

The accrued interest from the grace period will be split evenly on the remaining monthly repayments. Therefore your monthly dues after the grace period will include your original scheduled payment plus a portion of your accrued interest during the grace period. Using the same example above, your adjusted monthly due will be:

Original Monthly Due Amount: P3,025
Total Accrued Interest during 60-day Grace Period: P1,708.02

Accrued Interest Charged per month for the remaining dues: P1,708.02/ 11 monthly payments = P155.27

Adjusted Monthly Due Amount after the 60-day Grace Period: P3,025 + P155.27 = P3,180.27

If you have availed of the previous grace period during March to May 2020, you may still avail of the additional 60-day grace period as long as your contract is qualified. Below is an example of the computation for your new monthly dues with the additional 60-day grace period.

Customer availed of a Tuition Installment Plan on Jan. 16, 2020 with the following details:

Total Principal Amount: PHP 30,000
Monthly Repayment: PHP 3,025
Scheduled Repayment: Every 16th of the month

Adjusted Installment Plan after 90-day Grace Period from March 2020
New Monthly Repayment with Accrued Interest: PHP 3,257.91
Loan Term Extension: 3 months
New Maturity Date: April 16, 2021

Adjusted Installment Plan after 60-day Grace period from September 2020

New Monthly Repayment with Accrued Interest: PHP 3,420.02
Loan Term Extension: 2 months

As seen from the example above, customers who avail of the initial 90-day grace period and the additional 60-day grace period shall effectively have a 17-month installment plan instead of the original 12-month plan.
Can I opt out of the 60-day grace period and stick to my current plan?
Yes, qualified students may choose to opt out of the 60-day grace period and continue with their original installment plan. If you prefer to stick to your originally scheduled payments, you can opt-out of the Grace Period plan by replying to the opt-out SMS we sent to qualified accounts. By opting out, your monthly repayment amount and due dates will remain the same based on your original contract prior to the application of the 60-day grace period.
How do I opt out?
If you’re qualified for the 60-day grace period, you will receive an SMS with the opt out instructions. Follow the instructions and wait for an email from info@bukas.ph. The email will confirm that you have opted out.

Please make sure that you opt out on or before Oct. 14, 2020
I am qualified for the 60-day grace period but I already paid following my original schedule. What will happen now?
If during the 60-day grace period you decided to pay on the dates of your original scheduled payments, we will put it as an advance for the succeeding payment period and you won’t be charged additional accrued interest for that period.
I opted out in the previous grace period last March to May. Do I need to opt out again?
Yes, you need to opt out again for the 60-day grace period even if you opted out in previous implementations.

What can I get as an Eskwelabs fellow?

Can I request for a different amount?

No. All Eskwelabs applications will have fixed amounts based on their course. Any other value will not be accepted.

What are the requirements?

To qualify, you must be:

I don't have tuition billing. What should I upload?

Do I need to submit proof of payment every month?

No, your account will automatically be updated in 1 to 2 banking days depending on the payment channel you use. If your account is not yet updated, please send us an email at info@bukas.ph.

How will I receive the tuition amount?

Once you sign your contract or confirm your application, we will directly disburse the payment to Eskwelabs. Don't worry, we will send you an SMS/Email notification to update you regarding the payment. Once you've been notified of your payment, you may verify with Eskwelabs if they have received your payment already. How will I send my monthly repayments?

Monthly repayments can be accepted via “Bills Payment” at any Unionbank branches or the Unionbank mobile app, via E-banking using the DragonPay portal or Over-the-Counter at any DragonPay partner channels or any official Bayad Center branches nationwide. Is there a late fee?

DragonPay is an online payment platform that allows Bukas users to pay for their tuition installment plans. Now, they can use their online banking facility or pay cash over-the-counter at physical retail channels. DragonPay automatically monitors the online and offline payments and notifies Bukas of a completed payment so we can credit it to your agreement.

Steps on how to pay using DragonPay are below:

Log in to your Bukas account and click on the "My Installments" tab. To log in to your Bukas account, click here. Please note that you can only track the payments and installment details using the account where the application was done.
Select "Pay installment via DragonPay" from the list of payment options. If you prefer to settle your full monthly repayment select "Full amount due" otherwise choose "Set amount" if you want to pay a different amount.

3. Select your preferred payment channel. Choose from online banking, over-the-counter banking, and over-the-counter non-bank payment options

How much are the fees when using Dragonpay?
Depending on the payment method selected, there will be an additional convenience fee for using Dragonpay. The Dragonpay payment instructions will declare the fee. Please read these instructions carefully.
What is a “convenience fee”?
A convenience fee is a small fee charged by Dragonpay for using their payment platform. It will be charged for every payment transaction done with Dragonpay and shall be paid by the user/student. For example, if the convenience fee is P10 per transaction and the borrower's monthly due is P3,025, the user will be charged a total of P3,035 when using a Dragonpay channel.
What happens if I forgot to pay for the convenience fee or service charge while using an online banking application supported by Dragonpay?
In case you don’t pay for your convenience fee, your payment will not be successful and will not reflect in our system. So, make sure that you follow the exact amount to be paid on the payment instructions sent by Dragonpay.
What if I was supposed to pay PhP3025.00 this month to complete my monthly due but I accidentally paid PhP3020.00. I paid for the PhP3020.00 via Dragonpay. Can I pay for the remaining PhP5.00 by using Dragonpay again on the same day?
Yes, you may use the Dragonpay payment option more than once within the day. However, please take note that there is a convenience fee for every Dragonpay transaction so please ensure that your balance is exact by checking your Bukas account.
I have a pending payment via Dragonpay. Does it have an expiration or can I pay anytime?
Yes, this pending payment can expire. Please look for the “Deadline” declared on the payment instructions. Once past the deadline, the transaction will expire and you must create a new transaction by logging in to your Bukas account and selecting Dragonpay again.
I paid via Dragonpay already but my account is not updated yet.
You will receive an SMS once your payment reflects in our system. This would take about 1-3 working days (excludes weekends and holidays). You can also log in to your Bukas account to check out your payment dashboard! Multiple Tuition Installment Plans

Borrowers with existing Bukas Installment Plans may apply again and maintain Multiple Installment Plans (MIP) with Bukas for additional tuition coverage. You may use your additional plan to settle your current semester or incoming semester tuition fees.

Eligibility Requirements

You need to have at least a good rating or higher than that on your eligibility meter. But what if fair pa lamang ang eligibility meter mo? Here's what you can do:

60 days should have passed from the activation date of your most recent installment plan.
Practice good payment behavior (not just in Bukas!) especially in your monthly repayments.
Being easily contactable and responsive to our calls, emails, questionnaires, and other communications can also help! Kaya siguraduhing updated ang contact information mo sa amin such as your mobile number and email address. Send ka lang ng email sainfo@bukas.ph should you need to update.

How to Re-apply

The "Apply to a University or College" or "Apply to a Short Course or Bootcamp" button is available on your Bukas account only if the borrower is eligible to apply again. If you do not see this button, check if you meet the requirements above.

When you reapply, you will be asked to select your identity. Note that we cannot change account owners in between installment plans. This means that student-owned accounts cannot become parent-owned accounts in succeeding loans. Make sure to enter your details accordingly.
You, as the borrower, will repeat the same application submission steps. Hence, you will be asked to provide application details such as a co-borrower and updated documents (school assessment form, proof of residence, and proof of income).
All applications will undergo a thorough review and will still be subject for approval. It will take 3-5 business days, excluding weekends and holidays, before you receive the final result.

How to maintain Multiple Installment Plans

Having more than one installment plan also means following more than one monthly dues. Here are some tips on how to maintain Multiple Tuition Installment Plans.

Tip #1: Use the payment dashboard on your Bukas account to keep track of your Multiple Installment Plans and their respective due dates. This table is updated every time you pay, so you can take note of which months need to be settled for each installment plan. Your payment table updates only 1-3 business days after making a deposit.

Tip #2: When settling the monthly dues for your installment plans, it is important to indicate the reference code or installment number for the specific plan you are paying for. You will need to make separate transactions or deposits per installment plan to ensure your payment is recorded for that specific plan’s payment dashboard.

Tip #3: While we cannot change the repayment date for any installment plan after its approval, you may opt to pay your Multiple Installment Plans’ dues all in the same day to avoid the hassle of handling multiple transactions on different days of the month. Take note of tip #2 and the schedule of your payment due so that none of your installment plans are past their due date.

Example: If plan #1 is due on June 15 and plan #2 is due on June 26, you may pay every 13th of the month for both your installment plans. That way, neither of them is due and you settle both accounts in 1 day.

Dragonpay is an online payment platform that now allows Bukas users to pay for their tuition installment plans without using traditional forms of payments like credit card and PayPal. Now they can use their online banking facility or pay cash over-the-counter at physical retail channels. Dragonpay automatically monitors the online and offline payments and notifies Bukas of a completed payment so we can credit it to your agreement.

How to pay my dues using DragonPay?

To use Dragonpay, you’ll need to do the following:

Login to your account at app.bukas.ph/login
Click the “My Installments” tab
Click the Installment Plan that you would like to pay for
Scroll down to “Payment Method”, open “Dragonpay” and click “Pay installment via Dragonpay”
If you would want to pay your full amount due for the month, click the “Full amount due”option. If you wish to pay any amount other than your full amount due for the month, click the “Set amount” option and input the desired amount you will pay.
Select the payment channel you would like to use (i.e. Over-the-counter non-banks, Over-the-counter banking or Online banking) Note: A convenience fee will be charged in addition to your total due depending on the channel you picked. Once you select a payment channel, you will be redirected to the Dragonpay portal for further instructions.

What happens if I forgot to pay for the convenience fee or service charge while using an online banking application supported by Dragonpay?

In case you don’t pay for your convenience fee, your payment will not be successful. This means that your payment will not reflect in our system and your monthly due in your payment dashboard will not be marked as “paid”. So, make sure that you follow the exact amount to be paid on the payment instructions sent by Dragonpay through your email address or your contact number because it already includes the convenience fee.

What are the available Dragonpay payment channels for Bukas installment plan repayments?

Over-the-counter and online banking facilities of BDO, BPI, Metrobank, Landbank, and many other banks are available. Other non-bank over-the-counter payment channels such as 7-Eleven, Cebuana Lhuillier, LBC, etc. are also available. Can I pay partial/excess amounts using Dragonpay?

Yes, you can pay for the partial/excess amounts using Dragonpay by simply following the steps in here.

What if I was supposed to pay PhP3025.00 this month to complete my monthly due but I accidentally paid PhP3020.00. I paid for the PhP3020.00 via Dragonpay. Can I pay for the remaining PhP5.00 by using Dragonpay again on the same day?

Yes, you may use the Dragonpay payment option more than once within the day. However, please take note of the convenience fee for every Dragonpay transaction so we encourage paying the full amount.

I have a pending payment via Dragonpay. Does it have an expiration or can I pay anytime?

Dragonpay pending transactions can only paid during a specified amount of time depending on the payment channel selected. Once past the deadline, the transaction will expire and you must create a new transaction by logging in your Bukas account and selecting Dragonpay again. To check the payment deadline or validity period of your transaction, please look for the "Deadline" listed under the Payment Instructions sent by Dragonpay.

I paid via Dragonpay already but the account is not updated yet.

Please wait 1 to 2 business days for your payment to reflect on your Bukas account since not all channels are updated in real time. If there are still issues, send us a message on Facebook or email us at info@bukas.ph with proof of payment and/or your deposit slip.

I tried to pay using Dragonpay but my payment was denied.

Make sure you paid the correct amount and also entered the correct reference code or ID. If you continue to have issues, send us a message or you may reach out to DragonPay directly.

I tried to pay with Dragonpay but did not receive any email instructions.

Make sure the email you provided is correct. If so, check the SPAM folder of your email to see if the instructions were sent there. If not, contact Dragonpay directly.

My due date falls on a weekend. How can I pay if banks are closed?

Now you can pay for your monthly dues even on weekends with Dragonpay over-the-counter payments through Cebuana Lhuillier, LBC, M Lhuillier, Robinsons Dept. Store, SM Dept. Store and many more!

I tried paying using Dragonpay but I can't find my preferred payment channel?

Dragonpay offers over a dozen payment channels from banks to non-banks but availability will depend on the partner channel's schedule. For example, Bank OTC via Dragonpay may not be available during weekends. If your preferred channel is not available, it would be best to select an alternative channel to avoid payment delays and penalty fees.

What are the instances where a refund request from Dragonpay should be made?

Dragonpay may issue a refund under the following circumstances:

A deposit was never validated successfully by the customer possibly because: the customer did not perform the validation step; the amount paid was incorrect; or the validation details provided were incorrect.
A deposit was successfully validated less than four (4) days ago, but the merchant gave Dragonpay the instruction to perform a direct refund for whatever reason.

What is the process for the refund request from Dragonpay? How long does it take?

To process the refund, you must go to this site: https://www.dragonpay.ph/refund/ and click on the “online refund form” tab at the lower portion of the page. Then, fill out the form and click submit. Once you have submitted the online refund form, kindly wait for their email confirmation either within the day or until the next day. Once you have received the confirmation, kindly send a copy to us at info@bukas.ph. However, if you did not receive an email confirmation from Dragonpay, you may message us in our Facebook messenger or send an email to info@bukas.ph for us to help you follow up on your refund request. Please allow 14 business/working days for the refund to be completed.

Reminders for Dragonpay Payments:

For safety reasons and to avoid online fraud, please do not share your card number with anyone. Dragonpay may ask for an image of your ATM Card for your refund request. However, you have to make sure that the 16-digit card number at the front of your ATM card and the 3-digit CVV at the back of your ATM card should be covered. The details that need to be shown in your ATM card image should be your account number and account name only. Please take note that account number is different from card number.
In connection with refund requests, Dragonpay does not issue cash refunds for pick-up or for door-to-door remittance. The supported banks for refunds are the following — AUB, BDO, BPI, BPI Family, Metrobank, Unionbank, RCBC, RCBC Savings, PNB, UCPB, Chinabank, Security Bank and Landbank. Furthermore, some of these banks may charge a handling fee when depositing to a provincial account. Should there be any such fees, it will be deducted from the amount to be refunded. They also support refunds to GCash Wallets. Refund requests must be received by Dragonpay within 30 days from the date of deposit or payment. Beyond that, Dragonpay will no longer entertain such requests.

I received a text from GCASH that my payment will be posted on the next business day, but why don’t I see it on my Bukas Account?
It takes up to 24 hours for GCASH to reflect your payments on their app. Separately, You will receive an SMS once your payment reflects in our system. This would take about 1-3 business days (excludes weekends and holidays). You can also log-in to your Bukas account to check out your payment dashboard!
What do I do if I’ve sent the payment but I entered the wrong reference code.
Please send your full name, installment number, and contact number along with your proof of payment with a subject "Payment Concerns" to payments@bukas.ph. manner.
I can’t find Bukas Finance Corp. under the Loans. How do I pay?
You will be able to find Bukas Finance Corp under the School category instead.
Can I make partial or advance payments to Bukas using Gcash?
Yes! You can enter any amount you’d like on Gcash to make partial, full or advance payments to Bukas Finance Corp.
Does Gcash charge a transaction fee when I use it to pay for my Bukas dues?
Yes, Gcash charges a P20 fee for every transaction. Make sure your Gcash balance is enough to cover your dues plus the transaction fee to avoid failed payments.

Additional Reminders involving all our Payment Channels

The Bukas Installment Number or Reference Code is alphanumeric, the first three (3) characters are letters and succeeding seven (7) characters are numbers. Make sure to write legibly so that UnionBank orBayad Center can process your payment correctly.
If your due date falls on a weekend or on a holiday, please pay for your installment plan before the due date or pay for it through online banking and non-bank over-the-counter payment channels like Cebuana.Lhuillier, LBC, etc.via DragonPay. In case of late payments, there will be a late payment fee amounting to 5% of the unpaid balance.
If you have paid on time but the payment made does not reflect on your payment dashboard, please wait for 2-3 business days. You will receive an SMS once it reflects on your dashboard.
No need to send a screenshot of your payment slip. You can check your dashboard in your Bukas account to see if the payment was reflected. It normally takes around 2-3 business days for it to appear on your dashboard.

OPT OUT GUIDELINES

I opted-out via SMS. What should I do next?
Kindly wait for an email to be received from info@bukas.ph. This email confirms that we have received your opt-out and will provide the succeeding instructions. The original payment schedule will reflect after paying the amounts originally due between Mar 16 to May 31. Please pay these on or before your original due date after ECQ is lifted. There are no late fees charged for the period during quarantine. If you did not receive this email, send us a message on Facebook or email us at info@bukas.ph so we can assist you.
My payment schedule is still using the 30-day extension. When will it reflect back my original schedule?
If you do not have any past due amounts prior to the ECQ, then you need to pay your previous due amounts (amounts affected by the ECQ) along with your next due amount on or before your next available due date (original due date after ECQ) to revert your account back to the original payment schedule. Afterwards, the original repayment dates should reflect within 2 business days.
If you have past due amounts prior to the ECQ, then you cannot revert back to your original payment schedule. You will follow the extended payment schedule.

What if I do not have a student ID to use for my Bukas tuition installment plan application?

In lieu of the student ID from your school, you may use any of the government issued IDs below:

What is the COVID Waive of Late Payments?
If your deadline is during the extended enhanced community quarantine period and you are unable to avail of our online payment options or are unable to pay for any other reason during this time, we can waive any late penalty that is incurred for any due date between April 16- April 30, 2020 provided that you follow the steps mentioned below to request for a waive of late penalty fees.
How do I request to waive my late payment fee?
You have to email info@bukas.ph with the email address tied to your Bukas account. The email should have the subject ‘Request to Waive Late Penalty’ and should contain the following details:
a. Student’s Complete Name and Mobile Number
b.Reference Number
c.Guardian’s Complete Name and Mobile Number
d.Your scheduled due date
e. Your official request
When will you waive my late payment fee?
We can only process the waiving of late payment fee after our system recognizes your payment. That is, we can only waive after your payment has been made. So when you are able to pay, kindly send over the proof of payment to info@bukas.ph so we can process your request to waive the late fee.

If you are paying via UnionBank or Bayad Center you can pay the monthly due alone. If you are paying via DragonPay, since it can only accommodate full monthly payments, the excess amount you pay out because of the late fee will be credited to your next monthly due after we waive the current late payment fee.
I have more than one Bukas Installment Plan, can I request to waive the late penalty fee for both plans?
Yes you may, provided that you follow the instructions mentioned in Question 2 (see above). Please specify the 2 reference codes for your loans in 1 email.
When will I be notified that my request is approved?
Once you are able to pay, kindly send over the proof of payment to info@bukas.ph so we can process your request to waive the late fee. Once we've replied that the waiving of late penalty fee is successful, please wait 1-2 business days for it to reflect in your payment dashboard.

School Assessment Form for Tuition Installment Plan Application

The school assessment form is one of the documents you need to upload to your Bukas account to complete your application for a tuition installment plan. However, for every school, there are different document names for this. You may read the list below for the acceptable school assessment form per school or university:

However, generally, all school assessment forms should show all of the following:

Student's full name
Student number
Total tuition due

The student number on your school assessment form is mainly important because it will be used as the reference number for our payment to your school.

If you are applying to settle your previous tuition balance, kindly use your updated assessment form or a Statement of Account. You will be able to get your Statement of Account from your school.
