From applications to the actual work, internships give you a glimpse of what it’s like to have a full-time job. They help you learn more about the industry you want to work in and train you with different skills. Kagaya ng time management at teamwork. From preparing your documents to interviews, here are some ways you can prepare for an internship.
Prepare your documents
Some documents you need as you apply for your internship are your resume, transcript of records, valid IDs, cover letter, and recommendation letter. Creative internship positions will often ask for a portfolio too. These documents are the first impression of the hiring manager on you, so be ready with them! It takes a while to prepare these documents, so it’s best to request for them or write them early.
Practice answering interview questions
Interviews can be unpredictable. Para mawala ang kaba, practice answering common interview questions ahead of your actual interview. An interview only takes a few minutes, so it’s best to provide clear and concise answers. When you practice answering interview questions, you won’t be caught off guard during the interview. This builds your confidence too. Interviews can make or break your internship application, so every answer counts.
Do your research
Research about the industry you want to work in and about the company you are applying for. What is the working setup? Ano ang kailangan mong gawin? What’s the mission and vision of the company? Maghanda ng mga tanong para sa interviewer. Ask questions about the job, work culture, working schedule, expectations, and other things that will help you decide whether or not the internship is right for you.

Prepare the essentials
When you have chosen your internship, prepare the things you need for work. For instance, prepare an umbrella or map of directions if you’re working out on the field. Get to know what you need for your internship and be prepared with those things! You never know what you might need on the job. This will help your first few days on the internship run more smoothly.
Look the part and be professional
Going through your internship is training for when you apply for a full-time job in the future. Even if you’re just an intern, you’re still working in a professional setting. So look the part and be professional too with how you present yourself. Mula sa pananamit hanggang sa pagsasalita. Use the right language, adapt to the working environment, and get along with your colleagues too.
Be ready to learn
You will come across challenges during your internship. From miscommunications, tight deadlines, and making mistakes on the job. But don’t be discouraged! Your internship is a rich learning experience. Learn about the industry, how you work with other people, and how best to manage yourself too.
