How does the Bukas student loans work?

When you apply and get approved for a student loan, Bukas will pay your approved amount directly to SJCDC. You will then have to pay your Bukas monthly dues for your preferred tenor or loan length. Depending on which Bukas All-Year Plan you choose, you can pay back your student loan within 3 months or 12 months. Take note that every Bukas student loan at SJCDC includes a monthly interest rate and a one-time service fee.

What are the Bukas All-Year Plans?

Every PHINMA Ed student is eligible to apply for a Bukas All-Year Plan. Depending on which plan fits your budget, you can choose between the 3-Month Plan or the 12-Month Plan. The 3-Month Plan is perfect for students who wish to avail the 0% monthly interest while the 12-Month Plan is ideal for students who prefer smaller monthly payments since it offers a longer payment duration. Both plans have a one-time service fee of 3% and 7.5%, respectively.

For example, if you need Php 50,000 for your program, you can apply for a Bukas All-Year Plan to pay for your tuition. Once approved, the whole amount can be covered by Bukas. If you choose the 3-Month Plan, you will pay Php 17,166.67 to Bukas every month for three months. On the other hand, if you choose the 12-Month Plan, you will pay Php 5,404.17 every month for twelve months. Want to get an estimate based on your actual fees at SJCDC? If ever you want to pay off your student loan earlier than your original tenor, you can do that too! Since Bukas only charges interest for the months you consume your loan, you can actually save more by paying it off early. Unlike traditional financing options, Bukas does not charge any early termination fee or other penalties so you don’t have to worry about extra fees added to your loan.

How to apply for a Bukas student loan?

Applying for a Bukas student loan at SJCDC is easy and convenient. There are three ways you can get started on your application for a Bukas student loan: Online, offline, and EasyApply.

Route #1: Online application

With a fully online application process, you can be enrolled at SJCDC in no time. Just make sure to have your requirements and documents ready and follow these simple steps:

1. Create your account at https://app.bukas.ph
2. Click “College Loan” and select “PHINMA SJCDC”
3. Input loan amount and desired Bukas All-Year Plan
4. Fill out the details and attach requirements
5. Click submit and wait for feedback from Bukas

Route #2: Offline application

If you prefer the old school way of papers and physical interaction, this is the best route for you. Depending on the scheduled on-ground applications on your campus, you can bring all your requirements and drop by the Bukas booth where our team are ready to assist you in your application. Dates are subject to change so make sure to follow Bukas on social media!

Route #3: Bukas EasyApply application

Last but not least, we have the Bukas EasyApply option! Think of it as the online application in Route #1 but shorter and simpler. With lesser documents asked early on in the process, you can complete your application in no time. Just follow these three simple steps:

1. Fill out the Bukas Easy Apply Form (Click here)
2. Attach your requirements
3. Click “Submit” and wait for further instructions via email

Regardless which route you choose, once your application is approved, please don’t forget to confirm your student loan agreement through your Bukas account. This is a crucial step to finalize your student loan. Once confirmed, Bukas will then disburse your approved amount directly to SJCDC. After that, you can already consider yourself enrolled for the semester and start attending your classes! You can then start repaying your monthly dues to Bukas through our payment partners.
