Mapúa University excels in various fields and is regarded as one of the best universities in the country. Kilalang-kilala sila sa engineering, architecture, at information technology programs, but they’re also known for their social sciences, media studies, and business-related programs! Mapúa is also recognized outside the country, kaya naman marami ring nangangarap na mag-aral dito.
If you’re an aspiring Mapúan or an incoming freshie, we’re giving you a glimpse of the university’s campus culture! Mapúa is home to multiple student councils and organizations that you can join. Kung wala ka pang napupusuan salihan, here are some of the orgs you can apply to.
Student Councils
Yes, plural! Bukod sa Central Student Council (CSC) ng Mapúa, maari ka ring sumali sa Council of Organizations (COO) o Council of Presidents (CoP). Of course, the CSC is still the highest student body of the University but the COO and CoP also play major roles as student council orgs. Sa katunayan, those two assist the CSC in the activities, events, and other projects that the student body will hold.
PICHE-MSC
If you’re a Chemical Engineering student (ChemEngg), consider joining the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers - Mapúa Student Chapter (PICHE-MSC)! The org is a great choice especially if you want to befriend fellow ChemEngg students not only in Mapúa but those from other institutions as well. You can look forward to team buildings, seminars, and even group reviews with other ChemEngg students. Aside from having more college friends, makatutulong din ‘to sa ‘yo in connecting with future colleagues!
UAPSA
Did you know that Mapúa was established by the Philippines’ first registered architect? Kaya kilala ito bilang isang magandang unibersidad para sa mga nagnanais maging arkitekto. If you’re an architecture student, one of the orgs that you can join is the United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary (UAPSA). They hold seminars, events, and activities to help architecture students with their academic and personal well-being. They understand the everyday life of an Architecture student, kaya they aim to help and empower you to continue pursuing the profession in wins and in challenges!
Mapúa Industrial Design Society
One of Mapúa Industrial Design Society’s goals is to promote the Industrial Design field and profession. Syempre, nais din nilang matulungan kang mahasa ang analytical abilities and methodologies mo. This org will help students understand the importance of designing functional and beneficial products. Truly a dependable org for ID students!
JPIA - Mapúa Chapter
If you’re a business course student, especially Accountancy, you wouldn’t want to miss out on what the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants - Mapúa Chapter can offer! As a recognized arm of the National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (NFJPIA), the org takes part in NFJPIA events. Magkakaroon ka ng pagkakataon makipagkilala at makipagkaibigan sa ibang business and accountancy students not only in Mapúa but all over the country. Advantageous for your future profession!
UNYAP
If you love public speaking, debating, interacting, and taking the lead, the United Nations Youth Association of the Philippines (UNYAP) is the best org for you. Ito ang org ng mga mulat at interesadong makibahagi sa pagbibigay solusyon sa mga problemang panlipunan. Aside from the educational activities, members also get to attend International Youth Day celebrations, Model United Nations, Fundraisers, social events, and a whole lot more!
Ilan lamang ‘to sa mga org na maaari mong salihan bilang isang Mapúan. The more orgs you join, the more na mas magiging masaya ang college life mo at Mapúa! However, be sure to have great time management skills to juggle your acads and org work.
