Study At National Teachers College With These 5 Scholarships

Thinking of pursuing a degree in education? National Teachers College (NTC) might just be the school you’re looking for! NTC is at the forefront of producing adequately equipped educators and administrators in the industry. Thanks to the school’s service-oriented learning system, NTCians are making waves to make a difference in Philippine Education. An alumnus would know!

Since it’s enrollment season, we rounded up the scholarships that can help you fund your studies. Whether you’re an incoming or current student, you can apply for a scholarship para mas maging magaan ang pag-aaral mo sa NTC! Here are 5 scholarships you can apply for:


Entrance Scholarship

If you graduated with honors in your previous school, pwede kang mag-apply for an entrance scholarship! This is granted to NTC freshmen who received high honors in their Senior High School (SHS) batch. Depending on the grades, qualified students will receive either a full or partial tuition coverage.

Qualifications:

  • Must have finished the 1st semester of freshman year in NTC
  • Must be an honor student in Senior High School
  • No disciplinary record (as prescribed by the school’s code of conduct)

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 report card
  • Certificate of recognition
  • Certificate of good moral character
  • NTC registration form (1st semester)

Duration: One semester (non-renewable)

Note: Since limited ang slots, only the highest ranking applicants (according to all the other applicants’ grade weight averages) will be given the scholarship. Take note as well that grantees can still apply for other scholarships once their Entrance Scholarship expires!


Academic Scholarship

Are you a go-getter when it comes to your grades? You can put your hard-earned grades to good use and apply for an academic scholarship! With this scholarship, students receive either a full or partial tuition coverage depending on their academic performance in the previous semester. Note that this only covers the basic tuition.

Qualifications:

  • Must at least be a 2nd year NTC student
  • Grade point average of A-, no grade below B
  • Enrolled in at least 18 units (previous semester)
  • No disciplinary record (as determined by NTC’s code of conduct)
  • No academic marks of Incomplete, Dropped, Withdrawal, and Failure

Requirements:

  • Filled-out application form
  • Report card (previous semester)
  • Registration form (previous and current semester)

Duration: One semester (renewable)

Note: Huwag kalimutan na gamitin ang iyong NTC email sa pagsagot ng online application form so you can access the link!


Student Assistance Program (SAP)

If you have some extra time on your hands or a knack for multitasking, you might want to apply to NTC’s Student Assistance Program. This scholarship is granted to qualified students who are willing to study and ‘work’ for the school at the same time. This covers 100% of the tuition.

Qualifications:

  • Family income must not exceed Php 15,000 per month
  • Enrolled in at least 18 units (previous semester)
  • Grade point average of at least 80 (for incoming freshmen)
  • Grade point average of B, no grade below C (for current NTC students)
  • Not enrolled in an On-the-job training (OJT) or internship class
  • No academic marks of Incomplete, Dropped, Withdrawal, and Failure

Requirements:

  • Income tax return of both parents*
  • Letter of intent
  • Registration form (previous semester)
  • Grade 12 report card (for freshmen)
  • Report card from previous semester (for upperclassmen)

Duration: One semester (renewable)

Maintenance: Student assistants must render twenty (20) service hours to their assigned department

Note: Applicants must undergo an interview with the Scholarship Officer together with their parents or legal guardian.

*If income tax return is not available, submit a certificate of non-filing of tax or tax exemption from the BIR


Family Discount

Got any siblings enrolling with you in college? If you do, then you can apply for a family discount. This scholarship is granted to siblings who are simultaneously enrolled in NTC. The second and third siblings receive a 20% discount each on the basic tuition.

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least one sibling enrolled in NTC
  • Must be enrolled in 21 units

Requirements: NSO birth certificates of all siblings

Duration: The discount applies as long as siblings are enrolled

Note: The family discount is only applicable to college undergraduate students.


Tertiary Education Subsidy (CHED TES)

NTC is one of the schools partnered with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in their Tertiary Education Subsidy program. This is a government subsidy granted to students who are qualified Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries. This scholarship covers the tuition and other miscellaneous fees.

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in NTC at the time of application

Requirements:

  • Filled-out application form
  • Certificate of indigency
  • Proof that you are a 4Ps qualified beneficiary
  • Latest tax exemption certificate or income tax return of both parents*
  • Affidavit of No or Low Income indicating the estimated monthly income (if applicable)

Duration: One year (renewable)

Maintenance: Renewable based on the student’s academic performance
