Bukas Student Loan Application Guide for Freshmen Students

Whether a freshman, an undergraduate, or someone pursuing further studies (i.e., Masters, Doctorate, Law, and Medicine) at our partner schools, they are welcome to apply for a Bukas Student Loan. We understand that freshmen students, as new applicants, may need more assistance. Hence, we have listed down frequently asked questions from freshmen students below:

What if a student does not have a student ID to use for their Bukas student loan application?

In lieu of a student ID from the school, Borrowers may use any of the government-issued IDs below:

• Passport
• Driver's License (including Student Permits with official receipt)
• Postal ID (old postal IDs must have a photo of both front and back)
• Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID)
• National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance

What school assessment form can be uploaded if a student is not yet enrolled?

It is a requirement that a student must be enrolled in one of our partner schools before applying for a Bukas Student Loan. We require an updated school assessment form that includes the student's name, student number, and tuition amount. Please refer to our guide on acceptable school assessment forms here.

What happens after submitting the minimum requirements?

After submitting the minimum requirements, Borrowers can kindly expect initial feedback within 1-2 business days. Updates for the application status will be received via SMS and e-mail. We also suggest that Borrowers regularly check their Bukas account for status updates.
